Monday is D-day

It's official: my Project 365 will start on Monday 1 June. I'm actually quite looking forward to it, now that I've given it some thought and checked out some others' sites. I'll warn people in advance that my photography skills are limited at best; I've mostly used PhD cameras (Push here, Dummy!) up until now and can't see this changing any time soon. However, what I like about Project 365 is the ability to personalise it and make it meaningful for me.

So, here goes. Tune in from Monday 1 June and we'll see where I end up in a year's time. Gulp.

Project 365: To be, or not to be?

Here I am at the start of a fresh new blog. I'm toying with the idea of starting Project 365, taking a photo a day of something which I have learned, something I found interesting, or something which simply sums up my day in some way. I already maintain a blog, Tales from a Café Chick, so am a little hesitant to start another project.

How to take a photo a day and see your life in a whole new way

People will often say that their whole lives flashed before their eyes after they experienced a traumatic event. Perhaps it’s a bit morbid, but we think that sounds pretty incredible.

Find out more about Project 365 in this online tutorial.

I am a very visual person who is drawn to colour, shapes, and light, but not particularly proficient with photography. I imagine that most of my pictures would be taken with my on-the-spot camera phone, and more likely to be of specific items or scenes, rather than of people. I doubt any pictures will be of myself, as Café Chick is rather camera shy. Does this defeat the purpose? Perhaps. However, as you can see, I'm highly tempted.

I will continue to develop this site during the next week or so before making my final decision. D-Day will be Monday 1 June, if I decide to go ahead.
