Day 120 - Humpy doo
Humpy doo
This is our childhood toy, made by my father when I was just a few months old. I have no idea why it's called a humpy doo, other than my parents would sing "humpy doo, humpy day" while rocking us in it. My brother and I played with it for a couple of years and now it is enjoyed by my 19-month-old nephew. The only problem is, he thinks it has wheels instead of a rocker, as he is used to being pushed around in it. As soon as he climbs inside now, he expects someone to come and push him! Hmm, I wonder if there is any way of attaching a small motor and a steering wheel? ;-)

Day 118 - Budgie vacuum cleaner
Budgie vacuum cleaner
After throwing most of his food around, then refusing to eat almost anything else presented to him, Enrico the budgie now decides to eat the rubbish he threw onto the floor, just as it was about to be swept up. And they say kids are fussy eaters!

Day 114 - Changing a lightbulb
Changing a lightbulb
For those who find themselves vertically challenged, here's a great way to change those hard-to-reach lightbulbs. Simple!

Day 113 - Speckled building
Speckled building
This is the previously clos-ed building which was undergoing renovations these past few months. Well, it's open again now and has had something of a makeover! I'm hoping this won't be the latest trend for decorating buildings ...

Day 112 - Giant sledge hammer
Giant sledge hammer
I love this giant sledge hammer outside the Asteron building on The Terrace. I wonder if it's a message to employees, or perhaps a warning for travelling salespeople? Maybe someone was becoming frustrated in their attempts to be understood so they resorted to being as subtle as a sledge hammer instead?

Day 111 - Crown Lynn pottery
Crown Lynn swan
Crown Lynn vase
I think every home had some Crown Lynn pottery website proudly on display in the 1950s and 60s. My grandmother's swan held the telephone book for many years, and this vase would have had a similar function. This pair is destined for Trade Me, where a collector will hopefully find room for these specimens in their collection.

Day 110 - Forbidden territory
Forbidden territory
Santina knows she is not allowed on top of the kitchen cabinets. Here, she tries unsuccessfully to blend in with the background and hope that no-one notices her.

Day 101 - Koru line
I love the beauty and elegance of the koru. As a design, it is simple yet stylish and instantly recognisable. This informal fence line/barrier between the Wellington Town Hall and Michael Fowler Centre is creative and a great example of art in our everyday lives. Today, I managed to make the koru line up just right for this shot.

Day 95 - Farm Town flowers
Farm Town flowers
In real life
In real life
I have become somewhat addicted to Farm Town on Facebook recently, so much so that when I see real trees I'm tempted to 'harvest' them. The same goes for flowers that I see planted in people's gardens. These flowers look very much like the ones I 'planted' outside my Farm Town 'mansion'. Is there any hope for this digital gal, lol?

Day 94 - Santina's tisses
Santina's tissues
Good luck trying to grab a tissue out of the box from beneath her! This is one of Santina's favourite spots - by the bathroom mirror, where she gets to hang out with all her other 'pigeon friends'. As you can see from the carpet of feathers surrounding the tissue box, Santina has started moulting for summer, shedding her beautiful, thick coat and preparing to slip into something lighter for the silly season.
